Freedom of Information

The NTA is committed to being open, honest and transparent.

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 gives a general right of access to all types of information held by public authorities from January 2005. In making information available, the NTA seeks to strike a balance between the public interests in both maintaining confidentiality and disclosing information.

NTA publication scheme
The publication scheme explains what information the NTA makes available to the public. The scheme provides an easy method of accessing this information, which has been divided into classes.

Making an FOI request
To make a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, please email your request, making sure you write 'Freedom of Information' in the subject line, or write to the FOI officer. If you have a complaint about how the NTA has dealt with your request for information from the scheme, please write to the Director of Corporate Services.

To support the Prime Minister's commitment towards greater transparency across government expenditure, information on the NTA's spend over £25,000 and five day payment targets will be published each month, NTA director's expenses quarterly, as well as information on NTA staff including salary bands and organisation charts.  All queries about this information should be sent to the FOI officer in the first instance.
