Quarterly regional carer forum meetings take place for carers where representatives from the 14 DAT areas in the West Midlands can meet to share their experiences, opinions and ideas and discuss together how improved support can be achieved. In addition, there is a regional representative and deputy for carers, elected by the group.

As well as the quarterly meetings, there are two annual training days, when service users, carers and support workers meet together to look at special themes. Previous training days have covered: data analysis and collection, harm reduction, drug interventions programme (DIP).

There are now well-established quarterly regional service user forum meetings for service user representatives from the 14 DAT areas in the West Midlands. The meetings aim to provide a forum for user involvement at a regional level and to provide further opportunities for the continuation of regional user dialogue with the NTA and also to promote opportunities for users to develop support networks across the region and identify topics for future events.

It is also an opportunity for service users to meet to share their experiences, opinions and ideas and discuss together how improved support can be achieved.
