Drug treatment and recovery

Making a difference and getting involved

Having drug users and their families and friends involved in the treatment system is crucial for effective treatment.

There are many ways in which a user or carer can ensure that their voice is being heard when it comes to treatment. The simplest way to find out more is to contact your nearest drug action team (DAT) or regional NTA office.

If you are a member of a group, or are looking to establish a group, your DAT will also be able to advise you of any help and support available.

If you have used drug treatment services, or know someone else who has, you can also give feedback using Patient Opinion. Patient Opinion is an independent site about your experiences of UK health services, good or bad and is completely independent from the NTA and the NHS.

You can see recent posts about substance misuse services and post directly onto Patient Opinion from here.
