Payment by results pilot schemes announced

Bracknell Forest, Enfield, Kent, Lincolnshire, Oxfordshire, Stockport, Wakefield and Wigan have been chosen to test innovative new ways to help drug addicts recover and achieve a sustained recovery, Public Health Minister Anne Milton announced today.  They were selected following a competition to pilot a Payment by Results (PbR) scheme set out in the new Drugs Strategy 2010. It demonstrates the Government's commitment to go further, faster on improving the recovery of adults by incentivising the system around outcomes.

NTA Chief Executive Paul Hayes has written to all partnerships re-iterating the government commitment to enabling other areas of the country to have the opportunity to become early adopters of innovative and successful models and techniques as the pilots progress.   He announced a new Payment by Results page on the NTA website and invited any providers interested in the potential of PbR, whether they are based in the pilot areas or not, to a national engagement event at Quarry House, Leeds on 27 April 2011.
