Psychosocial interventions in drug misuse: a framework and toolkit for implementing NICE-recommended treatment interventions aims to help drugs workers make better use of ‘talking therapies’ to support drug misusers overcoming dependency.
The guide has been developed in conjunction with the British Psychological Society (BPS).
Contingency Management (CM)
The NTA developed a page dedicated to CM in drug treatment. It contains practical information on implementing CM programmes, and contact details of services currently running them, as well as links to relevant resources on the Skills Consortium’s Skills Hub. For more information see the CM page.
The Skills Hub
The Substance Misuse Skills Consortium’s Skills Hub is an online drug treatment interventions resources library, that includes guidance and evidence, manuals, competencies, training, implementation and shared learning. It holds all of the resources that the NTA’s (now no longer available) Psychosocial Interventions Resource Library (PIRL) held, as well as many more.
For resources and information on supporting the commissioning and delivery of the drug strategy, see the Recovery Resources section of this website.
