UK Statistics Authority report on the NTA

The UK Statistics Authority has confirmed the designation of NTA Drug Treatment Statistics from the National Drug Treatment Monitoring System (NDTMS) as National Statistics, following a routine assessment of statistics by the UKSA.

The Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007 set up the UKSA to promote and safeguard the production and publication of official statistics, and said that the UKSA will assess compliance of all existing National Statistics.

The NTA is pleased that the report concludes that its publication of statistics meets the needs of users, and notes that it makes a number of straightforward recommendations for how the NTA can improve its publication of statistics. The NTA will take on board the suggested ways to strengthen compliance with the Code of Practice for Official Statistics.

The report can be downloaded from the UKSA website.
