Research tells us that the benefit to society of drug treatment is reduced crime and better public health. Studies including the National Audit Office report show that drug treatment provides value for money, and independently verified national statistics show that drug treatment is effective and continually improving.

The NTA’s job is to improve the availability, accessibility and effectiveness of treatment for drug dependency in England and to maximise the benefits of that treatment for individuals, their families and communities.
